Advanced Topics in Intl Law

This course explores how international law regulates relationships between states, and states and individuals, by introducing substantive law in several areas including: human rights; the use of force and the laws of war; international criminal law; international environmental law; and refugee law. It covers the role of intergovernmental institutions as well as non-governmental organizations. Students should be broadly familiar with the history and sources of international law through previous coursework or experience.
