RLL 2221: Latinx Cultural Studies

The purpose of this course is to examine the experiences of different Latino communities living in the United States (Puerto Rican, Cuban, Domican and Mexican) through literature, film, music, art and popular culture. Topics to be discussed include experiences of migration, identity formation and negotiation in terms of race, gender, sexuality and class, bilingualism and code switching, and marketing geared toward the Latino community.
